7,8-dihydroxyflavone 7,8-DHF is a really popular product to be used as a nootropic.
Actually, until now, there are still no studies of 7,8-DHF on human. Although the studies on rats have proved 7,8-DHF can paly an important role in the brain and can help with memeory and cognition, but because there are no studies on human, so it is not clear if it has any side effects as a new nootropic.
Meanwhile, the use of 7,8-DHF in the treatment of traumatic brain injury (TBI) is also favourable. TBI is a major health problem worldwide. There is no cure to rescue the damaged neural tissue of the the primary injury. Current treatment options for TBI mostly focus on targeting the secondary injuries. The use of 7,8-DHF in the treatment of TBI is favorable because of its longer half-life and ability to pass the blood–brain barrier. So the discovery of 7,8-DHF was a great progress.
Now, 7,8-DHF has been sold as nootropic on the market. The dosage is about 20mg to 50mg per day. The reviews of this product are all good until now. Most reviewers claimed that they felt that their memory and focus had been improved. No reviewers reported any noticeable side effects until now. That’s a good news.
