1. SLU-PP-332: the original compound
SLU-PP-332 was the earlier compound that helped demonstrate the concept of an "exercise mimetic." Yet, it produced a similar improvement in exercise capacity, indicating strong in vivo efficacy under these animal experimental conditions.
2. Activation of Exercise-Related Gene Expression
Researchers focused on a gene called Ddit4 (DNA damage-inducible transcript 4). Ddit4 is associated with the adaptive response to acute aerobic exercise and was therefore used by the research team as an indicator of whether SLU-PP-915 truly activates the "exercise mimetic" pathway.
